Tina Mathieu
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Tina has been with UCA since June 2022. Tina spent thirty years working in different capacities at 911 Public Safety Answering Points in Utah. Tina began at Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center as a police service dispatcher. In her eight years at VECC, she learned many different positions and was ultimately promoted to supervisor. Tina was then hired on at Layton City as the 911 Manager where she worked for nine years. Tina was hired on with Weber Area 911 Dispatch and Emergency Services District where she spent 13 years as the Executive Director. Throughout her years in the 911 industry, Tina has been involved in legislation that has directly impacted important improvements to statewide 911 related to standards, technology, and finances. Her legislative efforts have positively impacted the PSAPs, public safety agencies, and citizens of the State. Tina has also worked closely with UCA throughout the years, which included work on many legislative issues for UCA, and she served on the Board for many years, including as the Chair of the Board. Tina was thrilled when she was offered the position with UCA, and it seemed like a natural move for her given that she has been a strong advocate for the organization and its employees for decades. Outside of work Tina enjoys playing golf, especially in couple’s tournaments with her husband, and spending time with her family.
CHRIS HUGHES
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIVISION DIRECTOR
Chris has been with UCA since November 2023. Chris spent over 9 years working in different capacities in the State of Utah. Chris began at the Division of Purchasing as a contract analyst. In his 8 years at the Division of Purchasing, Chris also served as the assistant director and director. As the director of the Division of Purchasing, Chris served as Utah’s chief procurement officer. He had the dual role of overseeing the purchases for goods and services for most State of Utah executive branch agencies and the State of Utah cooperative purchase program that allows the participation of all public entities in the State of Utah. In 2021, Chris was appointed as one of the deputy directors for the Department of Government Operations. As the deputy director, he helped oversee the State’s divisions that managed IT, procurement, fleet, risk management, finance, facilities, records, administrative rules, and HR. Chris is thrilled to be working at UCA as the division director for the Administrative Services Division.

ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN
Sarah Wetmore came from 10+ years in customer service industry after receiving her BBA from Westminster. She started with Utah Communications Authority in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant and quickly picked up the ins and outs of the business to help support everyone within UCA along with their partners. Sarah then got promoted to be a Financial Account where she now deals with Accounts Receivable and supports UCA Accounting Department.
DANNY SWITZER
IT MANAGER
With over 14 years of experience in the IT industry, Daniel Switzer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as IT Manager at Utah Communication Authority (UCA). His comprehensive skillset encompasses a wide range of technologies, including Office 365, cybersecurity, firewalls, Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware, and SQL Server. Daniel's forte lies in his ability to translate complex IT concepts into clear and actionable strategies. He excels at aligning IT solutions with organizational goals, ensuring that UCA remains at the forefront of technological innovation. His proven track record of success in delivering IT solutions stems from his exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. Prior to joining UCA, Daniel demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit as a residential real estate agent and business owner. This experience instilled in him a deep understanding of the business world and the importance of leveraging technology to achieve strategic objectives. Daniel's passion for technology extends beyond his professional endeavors. He relishes the opportunity to share his knowledge with others, mentoring and guiding individuals in their pursuit of IT careers. His dedication to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment is evident in his positive interactions with colleagues. Beyond the realm of technology, Daniel finds fulfillment in spending quality time with his wife and four children. He actively engages in their sports and activities, cherishing the moments of connection and shared experiences. When seeking respite, Daniel and his wife enjoy traveling together, engaging in friendly pickleball matches, and indulging in their love for movies. Daniel's enthusiasm for technology and his commitment to excellence are a driving force behind UCA's continued success in the digital landscape. His leadership and expertise will undoubtedly empower UCA to achieve its strategic goals and remain a leader in the field of communication.

KATI PETERS
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Kati began her career in social work employed with the State of Utah working for family services. After about 10 years, she decided to switch gears and help people in the legal field, going to work for a criminal defense attorney in the Ogden area. She soon made her way to Salt Lake City and eventually landed in the law office of SBHT working as the sole support staff. Recently making the decision to go back to the State of Utah, Kati is happy to be a member of the UCA staff and looks forward to working with this great organization. In her spare time, Kati enjoys hanging out with her granddaughter as well as traveling the US.
