HOW DO I TALK TO MY NEIGHBORS / USING INTEROPERABILITY CHANNELS?
With the need to interoperate in the state of Utah, the most powerful tool is on your belt. The portable or mobile radio you have access to should be programmed with three zones of interoperable trunked channels and a single zone of national conventional interoperable channels.
System wide you can change to zone 3 in your subscriber device and interoperate with another system user on the regional channel which are listed as Ops Channels.
Alternatively, you can also utilize the Region or Event channels, where these talkgroups have wide area system wide coverage.
For off system interoperability zone 5 will have the national 800mhz conventional channels followed by the state of Utah conventional 800mhz resources.
